Cassandra Shepard’s PhD Dissertation

Northwestern University’s PhD candidate Cassandra Shepard will soon bring her dissertation to defense and complete her final degree. For her final defense and project, she will present her project “Salient as Saltwater: the Post-Colonial in Post-Katrina” a project she’s worked on since 2012. This is a project for which she’s done numerous archival and oral history research in the past.

Cassandra Shepard

Cassandra Shepard worked at the Institute of Reading Development in New Orleans and Chicago during the summers of 2010 and 2011. While sustaining this position, she worked extensively to prepare her students for college-level courses as an instructor of myriad classes, including reading comprehension, study skills, note-taking, and speed reading.
