Your Vibe Affects Your Tribe: How to Decorate Your Home in a Welcoming Way

One of the most important things to remember in living a comfortable and energetic life is to create a living space that reflects that vibe. If your home doesn’t express harmony, it can have a negative effect on your mood, which in turn creates clutter within your home. A 2016 Cornell study on clutter and chaos shows that having an unorganized living space can lead to harmful tendencies such as overeating, stress, and oversleeping.

In order to de-stress and organize your home, you may want to decorate your home to be more welcoming. While everyone has their own personality and style preferences, there are basic guidelines that everyone can follow to ensure a comfortable and welcoming home. A lot of people follow their zodiac signs to get a sense of their personality and to anticipate the future.  Coincidentally, zodiac signs can even be used to find home decoration preferences.

Having a welcoming home doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s only welcoming towards your friends and family. It also means welcoming yourself back into your home whenever you return from being out. Welcoming yourself back into a space of cleanliness and organization will help improve your overall mood and can create healthy habits. When it comes to family and friends, they will also feel welcomed in your home by being introduced to a friendly yet calm aura.

A good way to ensure that your home is welcoming is to follow some basic feng shui principles. In case you don’t know, feng shui is the three millenium old Chinese practice of creating a flow of energy based on the orientation of a space.

The first way to follow feng shui is to create a welcoming home is to maximize the amount of light and life within your home. By having plants, natural light, and open windows, you can create a space that allows for a natural flow of energy. Plants will help purify the air, natural light will bring energy, and open windows will ensure the flow of energy through the house.

Another way to follow feng shui is to eliminate all of your clutter. As mentioned above, clutter creates an unwelcoming environment. By organizing your home and getting rid of unused items, you can create open space. Open space allows for the flow of energy, and having less clutter will improve your mood.

A final way to create a welcoming home by using feng shui is to completely clear your entryway. When you return home or guests come over, having an obstacle-free entryway will certainly make you or your guests feel welcomed. If you do have any items in your entryway, limit them to things such as a coat rack to immediately introduce a welcoming gesture.

These are just a few basic steps you can take to make a welcoming home for yourself and your guests. There are many other things you can do to extend the greeting, but by taking these first steps you will start to feel a weight being lifted off your shoulders. Once you complete these, you can move on to other elements of feng shui to improve the welcoming feeling and energy levels of your home.
