Positive Vibes Only

Positive actions. Any action, reaction, response, activity or conversation that created positive ripples that support our recovery. Think positive. We know without a doubt where one drink, one hit will take us, jails or death, our goal is to start building layers of protection that will prevent us from returning to that life. We know how we used to be, and starting out in recovery we have some type of goal of where we want to be. Next we just have to maintain our sobriety until we get there and it’s easier to maintain if we find positive reinforcement to our goals. Work, friends, family, church, education, sober support groups or classes, sober recreational activities all help build up our layers of protection. This is where we start growing our self confidence and self esteem, our addiction needs us to feel helpless and hopeless. Learning how to live again is a frightening thing, especially without the temporary escape that drugs/alcohol may have given us. This is where each of us must choose our path, Addiction or Recovery. We can’t get what we want out of life being controlled by our addictions. We either choose to step out of our comfort zone or we continue to lose ourselves to addiction. I choose life
