Modern warfare is egregious and dishonorable. It is legitimized terrorism – distant, random and blind. For war to be abhorrent, to be the choice of last resort, it must be personal, looking into the eyes of the enemy.
It is dishonorable to kill a man, even a soldier, without giving him a fighting chance. That type of action breeds terrorism.
