WASH WITH HAND REFLEXOLOGY

I read a cute Facebook entry about a woman who posted something in her office about washing your hands for 20 seconds. It said that singing “Happy Birthday” to yourself twice through would take about 20 seconds. Later, she heard one of her male clients quietly singing to himself while he used the restroom and it made her smile.

Well, of course, I had to try it and it has become one of the memes of the coronavirus pandemic. Most people know just what you are talking about when you say something like, “I have to go sing Happy Birthday to myself.”

Well, it has totally worn out that song for me. It will always bring back this point in time! I am, in truth, a little sick of it!

One time recently, when I was doing the 20 second routine with a bar of kombucha soap, I had such a good lather and I started massaging my hands. And, it felt GOOD! I have begun to look forward to washing my hands, every time! No kidding. I have different soaps and I make it into a special ritual.

I have done various forms of bodywork over the years, foot reflexology being one of them. I have strong hands and really enjoy giving (and receiving) massages. I have seen charts for hand reflexology and know that it offers the same benefits as foot reflexology, but it also offers a simple, easy pleasure that we can give ourselves many times a day. Find the sore places and massage them! Easy-peasy!

YouTube.com has myriad videos about relexology, for both feet and for hands (and earlobes) so, if you want, study up. I mean, you have time to check it out!

There are reported benefits, including calming anxiety, reducing headaches, resolving constipation, or whatever ails you. What I enjoy most is just working in areas that are sore and calling for some love. Twenty seconds goes by so fast!

I have several types of soap, my favorites all have some aloe vera in them. That helps heal the dryness from the soap.

Take every opportunity for self-love.

But the main thing, is to wash with reflexology. It’s the new handshake!

CAUTION: PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD LIMIT THEIR REFLEXOLOGY TO THE 20-30 SECOND TIME. CHECK WITH YOUR HEALTH CARE PROVIDER IF YOU WANT MORE.
