It’s been a week.
And before that, several tough AF months, and four (has it only been four?!) long years of BS and disbelief.
We’ve all been feeling it in different ways. We’re going through the same storm but in different boats, as someone wiser than me said about this pandemic, not to mention every other heartbreaking, maddening curveball 2020 has thrown us all.
I’m one of the lucky ones. I have a meaningful job I’ve been able to keep doing from home, so I also have a steady income. I have good health. My family is safe. I have so many tools I’ve learned to help keep myself steady when the waters get rough, though that’s not to say I actually use them all the time.
Meditating. Practicing Yoga. Writing. Drawing. Speaking to my many dear, sweet, sane, grounded, caring friends, colleagues, and family members.
Even with all these things in my life, I’ve struggled hard, recently. I’ve felt at times as if I can’t possibly cope with everything going on in my own life, let alone the world. I know we’ve all been there. This morning, my sister tagged me in the comments of this video that is pure gold, and it is everything I needed to hear. Tega Orhorhoro should go down as one of the best motivational speakers in history after that, as far as I’m concerned.
Watch as many times as you need. Then, continue:
