I can’t help but recall this moment from 12 years ago, when John McCain lost the election to Barack Obama. He handled it with kindness and respect. His words are poignant.
I’ve thought about it often in our recent weeks. Even when Donald Trump wouldn’t offer a peaceful transition if he were to lose.
McCain’s support of Obama left a strong impression on me, and I gained a deep respect for him.
