The global narrative is no longer controlled by the media; it is controlled by the pictures and videos of the people. Although the realities are highly subjective, at least they are more personal and therefore balanced rather than one-sided media outlet portrayals that are largely owned by a handful of people. You can find any side of any story on social media (except perhaps in extreme authoritative dictatorships that have made social media platforms illegal).
The universe abhors a vacuum. With destruction, there will always be something that fills the void. It is my observation that something will always be created from destruction, thus the idea of destruction is really a story of creation, a fertile soil where new seeds will be planted.
It is my observation that it would be wiser to live more in paradox than in polarities. Because if we believe in paradox, then we believe in other solutions that do not yet exist, and all the possibilities between two polarities.
In the example of war, I need to believe that there is another solution that exists beyond the destruction of people and land. And that those with power and influence and money will use their power and influence and money in a way that supports higher consciousness, and the collective and the greater good.
With this rise of nationalism globally, it is up to all of us (and I mean ALL OF US) to demand that our nations and leaders make decisions based on the greater global good, rather than nationalistic good. If this pandemic has taught us anything, it is that we are far more connected globally than we think and that at the end of the day, regardless of race and nationality, we will all face the same end. We will all one day die. We share that fate as humans. This is actually good news because regardless of the accumulation of power or money or anything accumulated in this lifetime, no one gets to take it to the grave.
What remains is the impact you had on the world and how we treated each other and lived while we were here.
What is the legacy that we want to leave for our next generation?
What kind of influence do we want to have in the world?
