Our Spiritual Journey doesn’t Start with One Book, One Belief—it Starts Here.

As a therapist, I have spent several years recommending books for those who wish to start their healing or spiritual journey.

Of course, I would often feel compelled to provide them with authors such as Bruce Lipton, Joe Dispenza, Rhonda Byrne, Esther Hicks, and Dr. Brian Weiss.

It took me a long time to come to the following realisation:

If you’re a Christian, read the Quran. If you’re Jewish, read the Bhagavad Gita. If you’re Hindu, read the Buddhist Tripitaka. If you’re Muslim, read the Torah. If you’re Buddhist, read the Bible. Read Tao Ti Ching. Read Guru Granth Sahib. Read the Kojiki. Read every holy book you can find.

Why?

Because once you come to the realization that they’re all exuding the same message, the same theme, you may find there is already a phenomenal process in your understanding of spirituality.

Monotheists, read about polytheism. Understand paganism. Learn what it’s like to pray to many Gods. See the divine in a female form and read about Saraswati.

Read about the son of God, who was tortured and tied to a cross by his own followers, and how he was resurrected three days later. Read how young Siddhartha reached enlightenment; how he sat under the peepul tree and fell deep into a meditation where all his past lives were slowly revealed to him.

Read every holy text, and only then are you ready for spirituality.

Because you see, truth is one. The teachings are one, teachings such as “you are a soul.”

You will see yourself in others—do no harm, Mother Nature is holy, you get what you give, take care of each other, give to the poor.

Today is your most important focus.

Know yourself. Sit with silence.

There are different layers to healing, and the first layer is to heal our relationship with the divine. Animosity, separation, and inferiority have distorted any sense of truth, and it is only when we go beyond that, that we become truly faith-filled. Dissolve the labels by connecting with every religion, and then you’ll see how far beyond it goes. Have a copy of every holy text in your house. Read them all. Love them all. Bond with them all.

Forget all other books for now. Forget gurus, forget Tony Robbins, Bruce Lupton, Joe Dispenza. Forget The Secret. All this comes later.

Begin here. Heal this divide.

This is where the spiritual journey begins.
