Long or short, sleek or rough, curly or straight, your hair tells a lot about you. Hair is an integral part of a woman’s beauty quotient. A bundle of fibers flowing down from the head below your shoulders is a woman’s own pleasure. But what if it starts falling off?

Hair loss is a problem not only men face. Women lose hair for so many reasons. I know hair loss is one of the most discussed topics everywhere. You might as well think of this as a blog that suggests random hair care products. No, it is not. You will get to know when you finish reading.

Well, if you are a woman experiencing hair loss, this blog could be of help. Besides, it costs you nothing. Why not give it a read?

What could be the reason?

People cite so many reasons for hair loss. However, here are the scientifically proves causes:

“If you think about hair loss as an issue, much of it is actually genetic. We inherit hair loss depending upon our fathers and forefathers.”, explains Dr. Renita Rajan. The derm is a TheeBestRated® award winner. Her name is popular in the industry for hair care and skin care treatments.

  • Genetics: You might be experiencing hair loss due to your genes. Hereditary hair loss is not a myth. It influences hair growth and loss.
  • Hormones: Hormones such as thyroid hormones could be responsible for your hair loss.
  • Polycystic Ovaries: It is a prominent cause of hair loss in women. Many young adults coming in for hair loss treatment have this condition.
  • Lack of Micronutrients: Nutrient deficiency can impact hair growth. Iron deficiency is one of the vital causes of hair loss.

What could you do about this? Knowing that would make all the difference. No, I am not going to suggest to you some expensive hair care products. I am here to provide you a few tips, which you could do yourself.

What are the DIY preventions?

  • Change your lifestyle: Practice going to bed on time. Sleeping late at night and waking up late in the morning impacts hair. Melatonin is the repair hormone of the body. It increases around nighttime during sleep. And if you stay awake at that time, it depletes your melatonin. Thus, resulting in loss of hair. So go to bed early and have a nice sound sleep. Trust me! It might sound simple but, makes a big difference.
  • Follow a mixed diet: Whichever diet you are on, always check whether your food has the right proportion of micro-nutrients in it. If not, ensure that you add adequate nutrients to your diet.
  • Don’t be harsh on your head: As we all know, brushing your hair 100 strokes a day is all a myth. Try to be gentle with your hair as well as your scalp. Especially, do not soak your scalp with oil more than it needs.
  • Keep Scalp care separate from hair care: Hair is basically dead tissue. It needs maintenance. However, the scalp is a living tissue. It doesn’t need much maintenance.
  • Choose your hair care products wisely: Avoid using colored and bright shampoos or other hair care products. Because it contains more chemicals, which may damage your hair.

Something as simple as going early to bed, having a healthy diet could inhibit loss of hair. These things could actually make so much difference to your hair.
