Give us our Lives Back! Calling all Warriors of Freedom!

It is time for us all to take a stand against the systems of administration that govern our lives, drain our life force, steal our attention and create a giant feeling of weightiness on our shoulders.

Calling all warriors of freedom!

This personal blog serves as a vent but also a public call to those who know how to instigate change. Show me the way! I’m ready!

Calling all warriors of freedom!

I don’t know about you, but I am tired of :

  • Long automated menus at call centers and 20 minute wait times.
  • Receiving unsolicited flyers in the mail that are wasting paper.
  • Receiving emails on a daily basis from every company you’ve ever had an interaction with and having to constantly unsubscribe to their various categories of e-mail marketing.
  • Government systems that take hours to get a single phone call and you might get a single task done on your fourth try.
  • In-take forms that no one ever reads.
  • Waivers that no one ever reads.
  • So many emails from your bank that you can’t discern the important ones from the unnecessary ones.
  • A taxation system that no one understands, not even those who run it.
  • Software systems: most only do one thing and there are inevitably errors when trying to integrate them with others.
  • Social media, gosh…  can’t even with this. Some how a single account to keep in touch with friends as we grew up turned into a multi-platform medium that requires branding, consistency and video/photo editing skills, filters and cute hashtags and worm-hole excursions into other peoples’ baggage. But I do it anyway and judge myself for it.
  • Marketing texts, just stop that. Texts are for people I know!
  • Scam likely calls. Why are they allowed phone lines?
  • Insurance policies: a necessary evil ?And evil when necessary.
  • Are you a robot?
  • Surveys from every employee you interact with whose salary is affected by your response. Just let them do their job.
  • Notifications, photo location privacy settings from every app. Please stop tracking me.
  • News 24/7. My nervous system doesn’t need this. We’re not designed for this!
  • Being asked to donate every time I shop somewhere to save the mega corporates from paying tax. It’s a double edged sword!
  • Delivery companies that tell you they’re coming any time between a 4 or 8 hour window. Nobody has that kind of time to wait for you.
  • Privacy policy updates that we don’t trust.

This list is far from complete but you are getting a picture of how much noise we are having to navigate to function on the most basic level. It’s too much and it’s time to end it!

What have we become that this is how we spend our time? This is what we feel is necessary to function? I firmly believe there is a better way, and technology has not quite come far enough to save us any time yet, but it might be the only answer. Is the answer in the blockchain?
