The thin line

Knowing’ is a tumescent curve bulging out of consciousness like an army of pollen dust bursting off the flower and this burst is I or you. If not, you are the eruption of the volcano. Like lust, anger, grief. Knowing is different from reading and understanding which is only an assumption of what could be. That’s there while you’re experiencing it. You’re devoured by it. The profound awareness of your limitations. You’re at the place when you know that this awareness or experience is within you and you peer into an enshrouded beyond. The awareness of countless aspects that you can’t put into words. Since this feeling doesn’t occur in our mundane daily survival practices, it also draws our attention to the inadequacy of these variables. Can you guess how many words are yet to be coined for unknown impressions or experiences? As it seems we won’t have a glimpse of it unless we have passed through it but the fun is most won’t have the idea of anything not confined to the realm of language. Mind, a gadget that makes this movie so exciting and unique has its limitations. Having said that, ‘mind’ is a mare word. Can we see how twisted it is? And yet you can’t see it – as long as you believe you can. The awareness of ‘knowing’ is housed in our own thought processes and not beyond us. We are at the place where we have this gossamer yet ruched curtain between knowing and yet to be known or unknown/not experienced which has been brought to us by the present experience. And the knowing will lope off our current experience leaving only the trail behind – the known. We adorn ourselves with the make-believe stories we have written in a fickle attempt to understand us. And all the struggles within come from a subtle yet radically magisterial longing to go beyond. Ah! That lure of the uncharted territory. And it always exists so far as we know. It’s always there to be explored. All the uncharted destinations are right here awaiting our arrival.
