When I wanted more periods
I wanted more weight in your words with descriptive places and acts of service
I wanted to hear your passion come alive off the screen of texts
Instead I saw question marks at the end of your sentences
A symbol for me to wonder,
To guess between what is real and what is not
Maybe you’re more interested in dashes of truth and commas of lovers
Than you are in periods
The periods seem too certain
They seem too secure
They also seem to end something
