Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis features:

Inside a new Walk the Talk Show conversation with Waylon Lewis: he and Jamie Logan discuss answers to common questions around veganism,
as well as “why,” is vegetarianism a thing, what to eat/cook, health, and the benefits of veganism for the planet.

Or, listen to the podcast:

“When you look at hospitals, who are they filled with? It’s not whole foods, plant-based vegans, people with protein deficiencies, or anything like that.

It’s people that have been eating animal products for years and years. Animal products cause cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and the World Health Organization has stated that meat is a class one carcinogen. When I think about teaching others about this, I think about all the lives that are lost throughout this process.

All the people that have been told to consume these products. They think that they’re eating something healthy and something that’s gonna give ’em strong bones. Meanwhile, it’s causing them to get very sick. And people will say, “oh, well, my grandfather had heart disease, my father had heart disease. I’m gonna get heart disease.” Well, actually, what’s common in families is the way that you eat and the way that you consume.

You can avoid getting heart disease by the way that you take care of yourself. For example, cancers are 90% genetic. That means it’s only 10% based off of your environment.

So therefore, if you are consuming high amounts of animal products—and obviously there’s other environmental toxins that herbicides, pesticides, radiation, you have to take that into account as well—but something that we’re eating three times a day could be a huge detriment to our own health.

But I wanna reinforce as I wrap up this health segment: I am not vegan for my health.

I am vegan for the animals. And you cannot argue the moral and ethical implications of eating animals. You cannot argue that animals don’t feel pain, that you know that they don’t wanna die; they are sentient beings. And we should treat them with love and respect.

That is why I’m vegan, and that is what keeps me vegan.” ~ Jamie Logan

A note from Waylon:

Big news about my podcast, new YouTube channel.

Our podcast and video series are trying to start up again, with Molly’s help! Help support them by viewing, listening, sharing—we’ve received many requests over the last years for mindful tips and conversations and the podcast to return. Boom! I’m once again doing a convo/video/podcast once a week. Hope you give it a listen.

I’m leaving behind Elephant’s 35,000 subscribers (Google never let us monetize) and many millions of views—and I hope you’ll subscribe to my new channel here: I’ll upload at least one video a week about everyday mindfulness and eco and meditation and relationships and food and equality and politics from a non-hateful perspective, and all that good stuff.

So, anyways, starting a new account. Subscribe! Support! Share! All the things. May it be of benefit! Be one of my first and comment if you do so.
