Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis presents:

Rachelle Robinett of Pharmakon Supernatural schools Waylon Lewis (and all of us) on some herbalism basics: how to determine good quality products, what to look for when buying herbs, common kitchen medicines, and how to get started re: herbalism.

“I am hopeful that the future includes one in which Western medicine can be inclusive of herbalism, and vice versa that there’s a better balance—because there are times where we need medication, we need surgery, we need the blunter instrument that Western medicine often is. And there’s so much herbalism can do in preventative care that’ll lessen the burden on the healthcare system.” ~ Rachelle Robinett

“If you’re limited in means, prioritize: buy less, of better quality. Focus on the essentials that really matter…and eat your greens.” ~ Rachelle Robinett

A clip of our conversation:

Or listen to the podcast version:

“Fresh herbs are overlooked. Often, at the grocery store or the farmer’s market, mint and basil and sage and thyme and rosemary and all—they’re pretty much always around. And those are herbs are culinary, but they’re also very functional. Having a few in a salad, or you can make tea with them, put ’em in your smoothie—always good.” ~ Rachelle Robinett

“I hope that people feel less intimidated to go out and make friends with some plants or some plant people, and, you know, learn a little bit more!” ~ Rachelle Robinett
