The Elephant in the Room

“Let us then reminisce in awe of the elephant.”

Emotionally charged,
Memories from afar
Etched visible scars
Scathed and swirled around

Is it reversible at all?

We dabble with life’s tarts but
Wage wars with thorns of the past
Martin Seligman though, did his part
Yet, are we at peace with all the parts?

A piece of paper is all I’ve got
At least a start to make peace with the past.

For reasons unknown,
The elephant weeps.
This creature within
Is still left unseen.

To the call of the wilderness
Let us thus heed
So that this fall we may succeed
Whence the elephant in the room
Is unsealed, in glee.

And then when they looked back, they saw all the pieces.
