I’m a MALA Democrat. “Make America Laugh Again.”

Her laugh.

The thing they want to knock. The thing they want to weaponize. The thing they want to make a thing.

Her laugh for god’s sake.

The fact that Donald Trump is actually insulting Kamala Harris’ laugh is…laughable. It’s as if being a laughing, happy, successful woman is a weakness.

It sure isn’t.

Laughing, happy women are currently uniting for a common goal and getting to work. In droves, they’re signing on to volunteer and spread the word. And in addition to donating like never before, women are getting loud.

I am a Laughing Woman—& it’s a Goddamn Miracle. It’s a miracle for her, too.

She is the breath of fresh air and energy we straight-up need right now. I am tired of the Trump show. In my opinion, most people seem ready to let go of the fighting, the cold wars with their family members with opposing views, and the lack of respect we show each other when it comes to politics. It’s a broken roller-coaster media ride we can’t get off.

In 2016, just before the election I wrote an article simply titled, Her about my support of Clinton’s bid for the Presidency and her attempt to break the glass ceiling. She won the popular vote, by the way, but we didn’t storm the capital and threaten to overthrow the government (but I digress). The article I wrote received almost 90k reads on this, my Indie media platform of choice, Elephant Journal.

Madame Vice President Kamala Harris is different from Mrs. Hillary Clinton, but they share the same ideals, ambition, and drive. They are women, which immediately means they’ve had to work a bit harder to get ahead in their careers than every single white male politician of any persuasion in history.

Recently, I left “X” for IG Threads. What a hopeful, warm welcoming place. If you haven’t switched, I highly recommend. Threads is my people! Instead of doom scrolling, I’m hope scrolling now. Instead of being sucked into salacious stories by “shock motivated writers,” I am simply riding a wave of hope. I know it’s not the same over at X, and I know I am stuck in a bubble with a bunch of people preaching to the choir, but damn, it feels so supportive and so very good to have this new energy crashing my feed.

What a difference a few days make! It’s fantastic.

The Democratic Party is uniting like there’s no tomorrow. They’re uniting to make sure there is a tomorrow.

Madame Vice President Kamala Harris is “Brat.” Per the youngsters of TikTok and such, it’s a term coined by Charli XCX, a pop singer. For those of you scratching your heads, it simply means she’s unapologetically herself. Damn, what a concept. Do not discount the hip young social media genius crowd. They have way more influence than everyone else. Their thumbs are on the pulse of society and the future, and it’s a progressive pool of people. It’s a pool that is wholly rejecting MAGA ideals and project 2025. It’s a pool who wants facts and lists to support the often vague blanket statements and vitriol spurting from the right. They want data.

Where are the stats on crime being committed by immigrants in this country at a higher rate than natural born citizens? There are none because it’s not happening. It’s not that there isn’t crime; there is, it’s just a fact that a specific group of our population (immigrants) aren’t raping and stealing at a higher rate per capita. That is a lie being told by the right. There is zero data to support that particular talking point, and yet they repeat it daily. Young people aren’t buying it.

#LotusToPotus Did you know Kamala means Lotus in Sanskrit? Her Indian mother gave her a beautiful name. A name that denotes rising, opening, and spreading joy.

#MALADemocrat is trending too. Make American Laugh Again.

#Iunderstandtheassignment. We, the people, are not only voting blue; we’re going to vote for the first Woman President of the United States.

Is it time to buy Chuck Taylors in every color? I think so.

If we could just get Taylor Swift and her Swifties to hop on the Harris for President train, it would be game over.

Her laugh. That’s what they want to focus on.

For those who ask, “Why her?” I simply counter, “Why not her?” She’s more than qualified.

For the cry babies on the Right, whining because they didn’t see it coming, tough luck. The blue wave is swelling, and it isn’t going anywhere.

Record breaking donations. Tens of thousands of volunteers. It hasn’t even been a week since the announcement.

President Biden, you did a noble and historically significant thing. You will be remembered as one of the greatest presidents in United States history.

Ms. Harris, you represent an America that refuses to cow-tow to hatred and fraud. An America that refuses to take more steps back. And just like Ruth Bader Ginsberg, you have a husband in full bloom, actively and openly supporting your talents while stepping back as you step forward.

This is your moment. You truly represent the best of us.
