Peaceful Protest: Let’s Protect our Democracy. ~ Waylon Lewis {Walk the Talk Show Podcast, Video}

Let’s protect our democracy for all future generations. ~ Waylon Lewis

This week on our long-running “Walk the Talk Show” podcast and video series, with awards and millions of views over the years…

Waylon speaks with the Elephant community about the No Kings Day on March 28th, 2026—the largest US protest in history—and gives us two small tasks we can do to protect our democracy:

  1. Subscribe to real, actual journalism versus social media or corporate media.
  2. Show up peacefully to protest. Find a protest near you. Our Walk the Talk Show Editor, Molly, joined the flagship event held in St. Paul, Minnesota. At the bottom of this article, there’s photos from the event in Indy, by Waylon!

Pssst. Curious about No Kings Day? Find out more about it here. “What began in June as a single day of defiance has become a sustained national resistance to tyranny, spreading from small towns to city centers and across every community determined to defend democracy.”

Waylon:

 ”There’s nothing more American than peacefully protesting when you feel your government has failed its duty to uphold democratic and peaceful, transparent values.”

 As Ben Franklin said, it’s our republic…if we can keep it:

“It’s on us to protect our country. It’s not his country; it’s our country. I hope all of you turn out Saturday for the latest No Kings Protest to rally.

Participating in community is democracy.

It’s that simple.

It’s the right to be open, to complain, to protest, without fear of repercussions, or intimidation, or violence. Some people—including liberals—call for rebellion. No. We’re into peace. That’s the process of voting. And we abide by elections whether they go our way or not, as long as they’re free and fair.”

“What I am requesting is participation. Elephant has 13 million fans on social media and millions of readers, but we are only able to bring folks together around caring, fact-based conversation—people who disagree but can do so agreeably or respectfully—if you participate and right now independent media is getting killed by Facebook, etcetera.

They smother and suppress links. So when you go to elephantjournal.com, when you go to elephantjournal.com/best and get our free newsletter, when you go to elephantjournal.com/post and write something and share it—you keep independent media live, but more importantly, you keep respectful conversation, community, and caring facts alive.” ~ Waylon H. Lewis
