Warning: The following video of a Syrian teen hero is disturbing and may not be appropriate for all viewers.
The video above was captured by CNN reporter Arwa Damon in Aleppo, Syria.
A woman passerby is shot in a part of town known as ‘sniper alley’; her lifeless body lies in the streets. A brave 17 year-old Syrian boy crawls out to the woman (whom he does not know) attaches a rope, and pulls her body to safety. He faces heavy gunfire throughout the ordeal.
“I said to myself, it’s God’s will if I die next to this woman,” he tells a CNN reporter who later interviews him.
This young man shows incredible courage, strength and compassion. He is mature beyond his years. In a world where we sometimes lose track of what is important, he serves as a powerful reminder of the quiet strength and dignity of the human soul under duress.
