Tune in to Nature
Taking a regular big bowel of fresh air increases oxygen in our bodies creating energy, clarity and relaxation. In modern life, every single day, our cells are exposed to massive amounts of toxicity from the environement and other sources.
Spending time to regenerate our bodies and minds with fresh air, taking our shoes off and walking barefoot in nature is necessary to recharge and tune in to it’s goodness.
In Japan, Shinrin-yoku Forest Therapy is a holistic healing method which is the medicine of simply being in the forest. Shinrin-yoku is a term that means “taking in the forest atmosphere” or “forest bathing.” It was developed in Japan during the 1980s and has become a cornerstone of preventive health care and healing in Japanese medicine.
How about the sun? About 30 minutes of sunlight can provide you with nearly a day’s supply of vitamin D through skin natural absorption. The Sun is a detoxifier, a great healer and vital to our cells, organs, tissues and bones.
Sun gazing is also very therapeutic and boosts the production of melatonin and serotonin. Research shows sungazing stimulates the pineal gland as the direct sunlight hits the eyes and moves through retinal-hypothalamic tract and hits the brain, this stimulates greatly the pineal gland and activates the secretion of melatonin and serotonin, our “feel-good” hormones. The practice of sun-gazing is recommended only at sunrise and/or sunset, when the sun is closest to the earth, you stand barefoot on the ground and look directly at the sun for 10 seconds or less, the duration depends on the level of practise and personal intuition.
Hydrate
Every function in our bodies operates with water, we are made of water! we need to stay hydrated with high quality and high energy water, the more hydrogen in water, the better! Hydrogen holds the levity vibrations, which makes Spring waters the best water for consumption.
Starting your day with a considerable amount of water will allow your digestive system to work effectively and your body to absorb nutrients properly. A high intake of water is necessary to cellular functions and the wellness of the entire body.
Keep moving
Moving our bodies in the way that makes us happy is necessary in staying healthy, youthful and strong. The holistic approach to exercise brings us back to nature where many activities are encouraged to be practised outdoors and avoid the confined spaces. Playing, walking, hiking, biking, swimming, dancing, rebounding, Yoga…The possibilities are endless, pick the one that turns you on and stick to it!
Get rest and sleep
Sleep and rest deprivation can affect our health in serious ways, listening to the body’s clock is essential to keep the immune system strong and allow the body functions to operate at peak. It’s preferable not to have electrical appliances in the sleeping space. A regular sleeping and waking time is also preferable and when tired, listen to your body and treat yourself to a nap.
Eat Whole and healthful
It’s the nourishment of all our senses, naturally, fresh and whole foods are what our bodies crave the most. The different colours, textures and forms in natural foods are all here to enhance the eating experience and provide us with the needed elements to thrive. Making room to raw fresh foods in your plate, preferably local and organic, will enhance your health and wellbeing.
Nourishment is also taking care of ourselves beyond nutrition, it’s soul food, we need to nurture our spirit in a way that works for us, it could be as simple as, sliding into a bath after lighting some candles.
Namaste.
