Yoga is becoming more popular nowadays. Everybody wants to come forward in the race of Yoga. Some people consider it a social status. It’s good to practice Yoga because it’s not only improving your fitness but also provides you mental peace and takes you towards spirituality.

It doesn’t mean that We can practice Yoga on your own. Many people think that Yoga is just different types of stretching or any exercise. They don’t take Yoga seriously and start doing Yoga on their own. Sometimes they got injured due to this. So Yoga should be learned under the supervision of a professional.

Because of the popularity of Yoga and its benefits, many people are being Yoga trainer without a deep knowledge of it. So due to wrong posture or stretch injury occurs. Before finding the Yoga trainer, you should check about his professional course and experience. But many times you can get injured even in the presence of Yoga trainer due to wrong postures and alignment. Learning from the right Yoga Master is indispensable.

According to the study published in the Orthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine, Yoga injuries are on the rise, especially among older adults.

The study on Yoga-Related Injuries in the US from 2001 to 2014, found that there were 29,590 yoga-related injuries seen in hospital emergency departments. Overall, yoga-related injuries became double from 2001 to 2014.

After seeing these Yoga injuries, Gaurav Negi has introduced Rehab Yoga programs for Yoga professionals as well as practitioners to deal with muscle imbalances, body awareness, postures alignment, muscle control and joint mechanics for better injury prevention.

About Gaurav Negi:

Gaurav Negi is globally recognized International Fitness Instructor who has also done a diploma in Yoga and providing training all over the world. Rehab Yoga is the platform which focuses on Injury Prevention in Yoga. His way of teaching is so unique that gives him unmatched success in Yoga Industry. In the 1st year, more than 19k people started following Rehab Yoga.

What Rehab Yoga do:

• Minimize the level of injuries and pain simultaneously guide them the correct postures for doing yoga.
• Evaluate the movement of pathomechanics which mean to have a regular check on the correct positioning, proper techniques and correct biomechanics of the asanas especially for those clients who are new to it.
• Teach the “general stretches” and “point stretches” for each body part and old stretches are revised and corrected if necessary. These procedures are not only incredibly effective, they also reinforce to the person that you know what you are doing and can be trusted.
• To improve the muscle control and stability of joints.

Rehab Yoga is creating a new form of Yoga which would be free from injury. It would teach you Yoga Postures with right alignment and would provide awareness of muscle control and joint compression.

What mistakes people do in Yoga?

• Many people practice Yoga madly to be perfect. But very intense of a practice can often make overuse of joints and unnecessary repetitive stress over joints and muscle fibres.

• Numerous people doesn’t know about their body limitation. We come from the culture of “no pain, no gain” and leave behind our boundaries. By going to work hard, sacrifice an extra mile, we win good grades, publicity and play. But pushing your body too much can cause impediments, stress and tears in joints and muscles. Respect the limitations of your body

• Some of us want to “master” the complex posture to win the favour and admiration of our teachers, fellow practitioners, or social media followers

My Personal Experience:

Being a computer geek my life is stuck in 14-inch laptop.  Even after taking care of proper diet and daily exercise my body was not flexible.

I always wonder how yoga is helping in achieving mental, physical and spiritual benefits.  Yoga Trainee like others, I was also pushing myself harder and trying to stretch all my body parts. Even after practising so much I was shocked that why I am not able to do all asanas perfectly. All my efforts put myself in physical pain and doubt on my capabilities.

Somehow, Gaurav Negi helped me to understand about right biomechanism of the human body that Yoga is not about stretching and forcing the body. Every human on the planet doesn’t have the same body parts. Before learning Yoga, one must understand a body of its own. We may have different strengths and weaknesses.

Some muscle of our body is strong and flexible while others are not. Once I observed myself and get properly trained I realised how to do yoga in an effective and proper way.

Not only my body becomes flexible but also increased my happiness level, automatically. One must learn Yoga and in a right way.
