In all of her roundness
and fullness,
she waxes and wanes –
powerful permanence
orbiting you,
drawing you in
with her gravitational pull,
forcing the tides,
the gaze of your eyes
to yield to the forces
beyond you.
Through cycles
and phases,
fazing the gazers,
she remains loyal,
synchronous
with Earth,
for dark though she is,
there’s a light
that she gives
each time
her newness
grows full.
