Neighbouring windows

Glass panes of darkness

How do they sleep

Knowing

Is their heart not as black

As their quiet home

Can they not see the world

As I see

I envy your slumber

As I lay in pain

Oh how I wonder

How your not the same

Teach me your ways

Oh sleeping beauties

Show me where it was

That pain you once had

Surely you’ve felt

What I can’t escape

Broken in two

One for me

One for you

That’s how it happened

I gave half to you
