Have you ever been having a great day, in a good mood then all of a sudden you receive a phone call, text or other message that diminishes that? You’re soon left feeling down and out and wondering why. It’s because you’ve allowed someone else to dump his/her trash on your doorstep. They’ve transferred their negative energy onto you. Now, they feel better because they’ve expressed their discontent. However, you’re left trying to decipher through the clutter and make sense of things.
My Father once told me that people who want to be happy….are. NO excuses. I never understood until after his passing. It all makes sense. If you know something saddens you or steals your joy, do you dwell on it or try to put it furthest from your mind. Any past hurts or disappointments that have yet to be rectified tend to be lost in the wind. Nothing that is beyond your control should threaten your peace of mind. You are not responsible for saving the world or providing resolutions to the disruptions in the lives of others. That is solely their responsibility. Truth is that many people create their own storms and get upset when it rains. How do you expect to have a messy character yet live a clean life? You can’t litter everywhere and complain about trash. It makes no sense.
Understand that there are some friendships/relationships that you need to leave broken rather than cut yourself in the midst of putting pieces back together. Those that lead to nowhere. The seatfillers who claim to cheer you on yet root against you. People who can’t be happy for you because their life isn’t where they want it to be. You know who I’m referring to. We all know people who complain about everything yet appreciate nothing. They feel as though the world owes them something. There is no such thing as luxury without expense. Leave them where they’re at because it’s obvious they don’t possess the mindset to travel with you. Remember: people can only lead you to where they’ve been. Time to surround yourself with those who look more like your future than your past!
