Though it was almost out the door few years back as many professional musicians had turned their back towards this traditional music style. However with many transformations, it has got infectious again. Jazz is a kind of music which not only hypnotises the performer, even the listener who feels connected fall into the trance of Jazz.

Back in times, when Jazz was played in 19th century, it was a stress buster for the American slaves. They used to feel emotionally relieved after listening to Jazz music. Even the performers would reduce their stress level by letting out all the emotions through playing their instruments.
When you visit some restaurants, you can hear a soothing music playing at backdrop. It’s mostly Jazz. These days most of the restaurants either offer live Jazz music or simply play it on their music systems. This is because it makes the atmosphere pleasant and gives off the customers relaxed vibes. Even students or working people can listen to Jazz as it motivates the brain and leads to work efficiently and create new skills.

How is Jazz and fashion connected? Music and fashion actually go hand in hand. In fact Jazz was a fashion era. Women during Jazz age played an important role in society. Flappers were introduced which was back then was not expected from young women. With Jazz music, dance also was a rage. Flapper fashion was followed on the dance floor. Dresses with no waistline and short skirts transformed the fashion. Day dresses were embellished with bow and fake flowers while the evening gowns were made up of luxurious fabric adorned with beads, precious stones and fringe. Not only dresses, even new hairstyles were introduced that revolutionised. It became an era of modern and bold women and eventually jazz became an influential factor for fashion industry.

Jazz is more popular among the African-American communities and this popularity got expanded and became base for many other music forms. If you notice music genres like pop, rap, rock, hip-hop, improvisation is the key which is similar to Jazz musicians. Many pop singers of today’s time also love performing on Jazz. The influence of jazz can be prominently seen in some of the modern music. In fact people know more about Jazz because of the present day music.
