Times of pain can be opportunities for even greater love.

As beautiful as the love my mom gave me was, the pain received from losing her was just as beautiful. I could not imagine my life without this pain, for without it I would have never been able to connect with others on a deeper level; it truly woke me up.
We live in a society where we judge others based on their appearance rather than what lies inside their soul. People may look different; their body shape may be different, their hair color may be different.. But on the inside, it is all the same. We have all felt pain. We have all felt love. We have all felt embarrassed. We have all felt insecure. We have all felt stressed. I could go on. The similarities between all of us are tremendous; you and I are more alike than we are different, and I may not even know you.
In a time where we hear of tragedies rather than acts of kindness, lets start recognizing our similarities, even if they aren’t so recognizable at first. Lets start looking deeper and recognize a soul for a soul. Love is always inside us, so lets start being it. Because it is this love that will last forever. Even though our physical bodies are not immortal, our love is. If it were not for the love my grandparents gave my mom, the love my great-grandparents gave my grandparents, and so on, I would have never been able to experience the pure love my mom so selflessly gave me. I could not imagine a life without experiencing her love, warmth, and kindness, could you imagine your life without experiencing the ones who bring you so much happiness? There is no reason for our world to experience so much pain, not when love is an option. We all may just be tiny drops of water, but it is tiny drops of water that create an ocean. At first we may only form a puddle, but a puddle can turn into a pond, a pond a lake, and a lake an ocean.

And with that I challenge each of you to start being more conscious, more mindful, to not only recognize times of happiness as love, but times of pain as opportunities for even greater love.

Thank you mom, for continuing to give me love and showing me that there really is life after death, because life is love and love is life. Happy Birthday soul mate, I love you💕
