Design Project Build

On April 5, 2008 Design Project Build invites you to join us in an exhilarating inaugural event brought to you by Boulder Design Festival 2K09. This event series will focus on five design disciplines, with the first event exhibiting local architecture design and creative development! This event will feature architecture and interior design exhibits with a never before seen Architect Challenge at Rembrandt Yard. Pitting their skills and wits against one another in a friendly and creative atmosphere, twelve top Boulder architects will incorporate problem solving design tasks into three well known buildings undergoing change here in Boulder. Exhibits by local designers, visual presentations focused on interesting and unique architecture, and an after-party led by Communikey Festival’s very own DJ Brandon Brown will be experienced.

In preparation for the Bike Rack Design Competition, Community Cycles will host afternoon bike repair workshops in conjunction with bike rack construction demonstrations (using salvaged materials) by local artists and community members. The festivities will begin at 2 pm, so cycle on over after the farmers market and look out for the Double Decker Bus at Rembrandt Yard. Come experience Design Project Build’s creative assemblies, interactive modeling, public participation, and more.

Each participating architect has chosen a non-profit to benefit from the evening’s event. 10% of all proceeds collected at the door will be distributed to each of these non-profits. Through contributions from local businesses, prizes will be raffled off to support bike rack design fabrications and other creative events like DPB!
