Senator McCain’s New National Purpose: Energy Security
By Waylon Lewis on Jun 28, 2008 inin active citizenship, blog, sustainability |
He gets a lot right, visually…the last Republican political ad to feature wind turbines was…never. But he doesn’t mention that a key aspect of his energy policy, criticized by many Demos and even some Republicans like Arnold the Terminator, is off-shore drilling. And he doesn’t mention the useless stunt he calls the ‘gas-tax holiday,’ which would benefit no one and kill funding for road maintenance. Still, visually, the ad reminds us of why we used to like Senator McCain—among Republicans he use to be a leader, not a follower.
