Our elephant journal ‘elevision’ talk show was last night. Among the highlights: Ryan Batch of DWR, the modern furniture company, sponsored our eco modern furniture as per usual. 80% recycled aluminum (and 100% recyclable) fair-labor USA-made Emeco chairs, rug, cork coffee table/stools.
He brought the furniture over himself…when we offered to help he said, nah, I got it. That was sweet. But what got me was this: I said “Hey, we can send someone over to pick the stuff up.” He said,
“It’s two blocks, brau. I’ll walk it over. More eco!”
He made three trips, including one (with the heavy coffee tables) with a big dolly.
A month or so ago (the night before our elevision talk show with Sharon Salzberg, Steve Demos & Dominic of The Motet) our ex-intern Katya and I attended a design lecture that Ryan hosted at DWR…with my instant-idol David Trubridge and the VP of Sales at Emeco, Dan Fogelson—an edifying night, and the surprise highlight of early summer.
