Officer & a Gentleman: John McCain’s Affair vs. John Edwards’ Affair.

Okay, we’re swimming in the murky waters of political intrigue, this morning, folks. John Edwards—VP candidate in ‘04 and the Man with the Best Eco Plan in ‘08…has admitted to an affair while on the Presidential Primary campaign trail. Still, if you take all Presidents and candidates for Presidents who have moral failings off the list, you’ll be left with…nobody. John McCain, of course, had affairs back in the day, and is very much a serious figure on the national political scene.
From HuffPo, this excerpt: “…Now, we get to the most relevant question - if John Edwards’ political career is done, why isn’t John McCain’s? John McCain had a well-documented affair on his first wife, with his current wife. He has admitted in the books he has written about his life that he ran around with several different women while still married to his first wife. And don’t forget that he left her for a younger, richer woman - multi-millionaire Cindy Hensley who is now Cindy McCain - after she had been severely hurt in a car accident.”

Good ole Teflon John! So, he had affairs and no one seems to mind. Does this surprise you? John McCain, called his wife a trollup and a c$@t (the “C” word that rhymes with punt) a few years back for all the listening audience to hear. In addition, no one at the audience of NAACP supporters he spoke to a few months back seemed to remember that he voted against making Martin Luther King a holiday in the state of Arizona. (Prince and many other artists cancelled concerts in Phoenix because of this.) And lets not forget McCain’s notorious reputation for NOT supporting women’s rights.
If Obama had this kind of history, he would never have made it as far as he has. Thankfully, he seems to be an honorable man-
and while Teflon John may have won honors in the war- he doesn’t win any in my book. The affair stuff is one thing- but his more of the same policies and nasty temper make him an unwise choice for any office- let alone the Presidency.
