To Boulder go where no elephant journals have sold before [beware, inadvertent shoplifters].

Huge News! (For those Who Care). elephant’s National Distribution goes…local. Autumn issue will cost $4.50 in Boulder (beware, inadvertent shoplifters). This also means that Boulder retailers, coffee shops etc can start makign money off of selling elephant. Advertisers will get it free. So reserve an 8.5 x 4 vertical space on a table in your shop…elephant is all grown’s up, and the Autumn 2008 issue with political-themed cover lands in just 10 days.

  1. Hey Way,
Congrats on the national distribution of elephant! You truly have a special magazine (thanks to elephant’s feature on cleaning supplies, I’m totally freaked out about toxic products and am now only using green supplies to keep my home sparkley).

You might notice I’m no longer with wonderful Putumayo… but I’ll be sure to send you the wonderful independent artist albums I’m working with now. I think Ani DiFranco would be a perfect fit!

1 more thing… definitely look into getting your magazine into Greenlife stores in Asheville, NC. I can’t think of a better focus-market for elephant (and for a free subscription, I’ll even talk to the manager at the main store about bringing it in) ;) Have a wonderful day! -Crissa

It always makes my…day…week…when some editorial we done actually has an effect on someone’s life. Thanks for that.

Ani of course. Happy to interview, review, feature, article, anything. I and everyone we know are huge fans.

Our new commission-based distribution program works like this: for spots that don’t currently distribute magazines (like yoga studios, apothecaries, coops) we’ll sell the magazine for $2 including shipping each. That leaves $1 per copy commission for you, and $1.25 profit each for the store that sells it. I’m just figuring out the model now, let me know how good that sounds: incredibly awesome, good, boring, not great, awful.
Our aim to to create a grassroots distribution program whereby readers of elephant can help get our copies available in their local neighborhood joints…and get paid $1 a copy for now and forever. Sound good? Contact us at info@elephantjournal.com
