Whole Foods’ Feed 100 Bag: the coolest shopping bag. Ever.

I was in Whole Foods today grabbing an extra can of cranberry sauce for tomorrow’s dinner and found what has got to be the greatest shopping bag ever: the Feed 100 Bag. The bag itself is made from sustainable burlap and 100% organic cotton, and zips up to the size of a large wallet. The bag costs $25 (opposed to your average $.99 bag), which sounds like a lot, BUT… the Feed 100 Bag provides 100 school meals through the U.N. World Food Program. The tag is even printed on 100% post-consumer recycled paper. The bag itself is pretty sweet, with three internal pockets in addition to the main pocket, and according to the tag, it’s made fairly in China. I’ve already told my mother that more than one family member can expect one of these as a gift this holiday season (with locally produced Colorado products inside… my family’s back East and loves getting gifts like Justin’s Nut Butters and Pangea Soaps in a shopping bag). It’s the perfect gift: great for the planet and great for hungry children worldwide. Go get (at least) one!
