Mad Men seems to be everywhere these days. Finally, I had to see what all of the fuss was about…so I am watching the first season on Netflix. It’s our editor’s favorite show, and he wrote a commentary on bachelorhood with a link to a hilarious SNL skit which includes Mad Men’s star, Jon Hamm.
Hamm also appears in the upcoming film “The Day the Earth Stood Still.” In the UK Telegraph he explained his choice of involvement in the project: “It’s a very modern remake. The original was a product of the cold war, but they’ve swapped that allegory for global warming—the idea is, if you’re not going to take care of the planet, we’re going to take it away from you. I think with the icecaps melting, no snow on Kilimanjaro and it being 100 degrees in November—that’s a good switch.”
Then, for all of you classy dressers out there, Sprig.com just ran a piece entitled “10 Ways to Look Like You Just Stepped off the Set of Mad Men” which features clothing that has a classic 1950’s look with a modern eco-fashion twist.
While looking at the gorgeous face of one of the other show’s stars, January Jones (who apparently uses organic skincare products) I am mostly just taken aback whenever I watch the show of how far we have come as women. In the workplace. At home. Now that, to me, is something to be mindful of.
