When shopping for a home, it’s crucial to consider numerous factors beyond price and curb appeal. Here are some suggestions to ensure that your little piece of paradise doesn’t turn out to be a pit of endless problems. Humorist, Jeffrey Shaffer of the Christian Science Monitor has his own top ten, but I would just like to add:

Be wary of buying land on an island with an active volcano.
