Trojan Women

Jean-Paul Sartre’s adaptation of Euripides’ classic story of war highlights the fragility of self and will be contextualized in the modern age of media, where the struggle for integrity is challenged by horrific world events.

Experimental theater director Kevin Kuhlke will be collaborating with acclaimed New York–based composer Cynthia Hopkins and choreographer, CU faculty member, Onye Ozuzu to create a multidimensional theatrical experience that integrates sound/song, dance and theater Informed by Naropa’s mission of “contemplative education” based on the vision of its founder, the Tibetan Meditation Master Chogyam Trungpa it hopes to lead the way toward a new world performance culture, beyond what is customarily thought of as intercultural work.

Trojan Women will be produced by Naropa University’s MFA Theater: Contemporary Performance Program and presented by the ATLAS Center for Arts, Media, and Performance at the University of Colorado, Boulder. The production opens February 20 at 8 p.m., then runs February 21 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., as well as February 22 at 2 p.m. Admission:  $15 General Admission; $10 Students and Seniors. Box Office info and reservations:  (303)245-4798, Boxoffice@naropa.edu. For more information about this performance, click here.
