We Are The Earth Intruders, We Deal with Twigs and Branches.
It’s time to turn off the tv and figure out how we’re going to Save the World!
You might need to turn the light on to see
(since you won’t have the tv on anymore),
or you could go outside just to have a look around. What’s out there?
It’s also good to dance and ponder Revolution!
It really is true that you can’t start a fire without a spark…
So the Revolution needs people who are not afraid,
because there is a lot more to do...
Seeking a family of trees…
It’s OK if we don’t do everything right…
as long as it’s from US.
We already know that we can do nothing alone,
So storytellers…
there are Superheroes in Boulder, CO*.
It’s true!
Dalia, wants to tackle this problem of the #5 plastic in the Stoneyfield Yogurt containers.
Dalia is usually a gentle bird, but when it comes to fighting for the earth, she’s a boxer!
She wrote an email to the Seven Star Farms, telling them to stop packaging in #5 unrecyclable plastic:
“Recently I have decided to stop purchasing yogurt precisely because it is packaged in non-recylcable plastic (I live in Philadelphia, which recylces only #1 and #2). In fact, I am trying to avoid purchasing any product that requires plastic packaging. I do like your yogurt, and wish to support biodynamic, local farming, yet, I find that the fact that you package in non-recylcable plastic is no longer acceptable. There must be a solution!Yours sincerely,Dalia Nassar”
(You can write to them too! Just do it! Info@sevenstarsfarm.com)
Today I found this “note to self” that I left awhile back…
If you are a gun that’s for hire to the Revolution,
be cinematic and show your real life*,
send it to me and I’ll post! (missepic2003@yahoo.com)
Message keeps getting clearer, radios on and I’m moving round the place
I check myself out in the mirror I wanna change my clothes my hair my face
Man I ain’t getting nowhere just sitting in a dump like this
Theres something happening somewhere baby I just know that there is
You cant start a fire, can’t start a fire without a spark,
this gun’s for hire, even if we’re just dancing in the dark
You sit around getting older there’s a joke here somewhere and its on me
Ill shake this world off my shoulders come baby this laughs on me
Stay on the streets of this town and they’ll be carving you up all right
They say you got to stay hungry hey baby Im just about starving tonight
I’m dying for some action I’m sick of sitting round here trying to write
This book
I need a love reaction come on now baby give me just one look
You cant start a fire, you can’t start a fire without a spark.
This gun’s for hire, even if we’re just dancing in the dark.”

Incorrect source, offensive, or found a typo? Or do you want to write for Elephant?

Wonderful, Joanna!!
Thanks for including us in your elephant journal. I really enjoyed reading it this morning. Did you get the pictures? I'm doing invitations today and need to make sure I have your snail mail address correct. Can you send it to me? Have a lovely day!!
xoxo,

The boss is back. Some questions remain…like how to identify that #5 plastic you alluded to?
Just turn over the container and look for the three arrows in a triangle. In the center of that will be a number.
Is there anyone here who can help with additional wisdom on plastic recycling?
hey joanna–kind of funny to see my email (and photo) up there, but thanks for sharing! i was inspired by your revolution to write that email–stop complaining and worrying and start writing
my suggestion, with regard to plastic usage in yogurt, is that we get in touch with our local yogurt producers (seven stars in my case, and for all those in the NY – OH area) and ask them to start putting yogurt in glass that they can *reuse* (not recycle, since recycling also has its disadvantages) — that is how it is done in Europe.
but off the topic of me: i really like this posting, the images are beautiful.
good monday~~~
Are butterflies superheroes? They are pretty amazing. Maybe they’re teachers. Are teachers superheroes? I’d like to think so.
Love this, esp the not Made in China!
Joanna…Just found you in a magical way…I can't say enough about how much your integration of visual and verbal thinking inspires me. Understated poetry. I am going to try and be worthy of your examples. Blog on!
Oriana, I love magical ways! Who are you and what do you do?
my email: missepic2003@yahoo.com
