Vegan Strip Club is a turn-on…for animal compassion. Video.

current tv naked girls vegan strip club

Hot & Yummy. Vegan Strip Club seduces Masses with ethical message. CurrentTV video: Portland, Oregon.

Funny how vegans, as evidenced by PETA’s penchant for naked ladies on posters, are more passionate about animal rights than Feminism. Oh, wait, maybe that’s Post-Feminism, when you can consciously exploit your (incredible) body for whatever reason you so choose. Nevermind.

Veganism is serious stuff, and worth sacrificing a few articles of clothing for. Right now we Americans are committing an annual, yummy, bad-for-our-own-health animal Holocaust…the only difference being that most humans don’t go in for all that animals have rights too stuff. Not seeing them as sentient, we don’t seem them having rights. Still, all that’s beginning to change (read here for great NY Times column by Kristof).

Thought Portland was all fixie-riding hipster artistes? Well, apparently they’re a little lonely and bored up there in the rainy Northwest: Portland has more strip clubs per capita than anyone in the US (more than Vegas?!). As the owner of the world’s first vegan strip club says,

“These folks weren’t interested in my [vegan] food. So I said you know what? I’m just gonna throw some boobs up…now they’re coming and they’re going wow, this is excellent food!”

Via Current TV comes this fun video that shows the way forward for vegan restaurants—get some naked girls (and boys) and you’ll spread your ethical gospel to folks who didn’t think they wanted to eat fake meat…and to strip clubs: offer awesome, healthy, yummy, compassionate vegan food and you’ll get all the hippies, liberals and hipsters coming by with their dollar bills. 1. Best/worst puns win.
    Compassion is a real turn-on.
Vegan fare has never looked so good.
Could I get a side of XXX with that?

I've actually eaten out here – when it was still a vegan pirate restaurant back during Railsconf 2007. I'd heard they'd switched models (har har)…. I wonder if it's seriously vegan to exploit one animal to protect the others (playing devils' advocate, I am!)

    Ha..wild ! Just shared it.

  3. Best/worst puns win. Folks keep sending me puns from FB.
That place is nuthin' but a meat(less) market.
    Something about animalistic urges.

  4. Ireland Erin says:

I heard they have a great naked burrito and if this isn't a great example of food in the raw, I don't know what it. Portland is cool for so many reasons!

  5. Uncle Ray says:

I love that EJ….nothing but a meatless market! LOL

    • elephantjournal says:

Ironically, this http://www.elephantjournal.com/2010/02/hunky-jesu… is much more popular. The vegan meat market, apparently, is out of business.

      • Krys says:

Out of business? That doesn't surprise me in the least. People who respect chickens enough not to eat them tend also to be people who respect women enough not to leer lewdly at them while waving dollar bills. Part of creating a business model is identifying your customer base. There probably aren't enough sexist vegans in Portland to pay the dishwasher in that club.

  6. [...] in awhile, I post something with sexiness or meanness in a title, and I always see it get 10x the traffic as a nice thoughtful blog I do [...]

  7. Jay Winston says:

I’m trying to come up with a clever comment that doesn’t include a lewd pun…but it hardly seems possible…

  8. Vegan strip club? It's soy tempeh, but I don't know….

  9. Jen says:

All for awareness for vegan options and the rights of the "other" lovely earthly beings, but makes me sad that it has to be combined with the objectification of women to sell. To me, this is not a win-win…it's a win-loss.

In Hastings, Michigan at the new Seasonal Grille, they are featuring Meatless Mondays! Inexpensive, beautiful, four-couse meal for $15, nice environment, good conversation and no one had to put up their boobs the first night, when 30 people from a very traditional, agriculturally based, small community came in to try vegan food.

    Just sayin'

  10. BradyDale says:

This is the first anyone has convinced me to go visit Portland.

  11. guest says:

I danced there briefly- what a sleazy sh*thole. It's a gimmick, selling deep-friend processed soy grossness. The owner is a slimebag.

  12. You could definitely see your expertise within the paintings you write. The sector hopes for more passionate writers like you who aren’t afraid to say how they believe. At all times follow your heart.

  13. joe says:

I want to eat her taco. Guess ill be the only one around here eating meat.

  14. Guest says:

Nice Priories, save the animal that was put here for us to eat by exploiting humans, Classic example of how the worldview is screwed up
