Fourth Annual REEL ROCK Film Tour Brings Adventure to Boulder’s Big Screen

elephantjournal.com’s Favorite Rock Stars.

The Fourth Annual REEL ROCK Film Tour kicks off in September and drops into Boulder on September 10.

Presented by title sponsors WindStopper and The North Face, media sponsors Climbing Magazine and Urban Climber, and gear sponsor Petzl Equipment, this year’s tour promises to be even bigger and better than last year’s—which wowed over 20,000 spectators and raised more than $10,000 for nonprofits…

Here’s the brand-spankin’ new trailer.

REEL ROCK 09 features the world premiere of “Progression,” the latest release from the state of the art filmmakers at Big UP Productions, as well as the exhilarating new series “First Ascent” from the cutting-edge producers at Sender Films and National Geographic Adventure Channel (congrats!).

Also in the lineup are two winning short films from this year’s highly competitive REEL ROCK Filmmaking Competition.

The Competition: Building on the success and popularity of the 2008 REEL ROCK Filmmaking Competition in which tens of thousands of people voted for their favorite action/inspiration and humor/spoof films online—REEL ROCK has launched the 2009 competition—this time with new rules and prizes. Two winning filmmakers will rake in cash and grand prize packages from REEL ROCK sponsors. The winning films, one from each genre category—as chosen by voters online and REEL ROCK judges—will be featured on the 2009 REEL ROCK Film Tour in over 100 locations worldwide.

The show starts at 7 p.m. at the Boulder Theater on September 10.

You can get your $12 advance tickets at Boulder Rock Club, The Spot Gym, and Neptune Mountaineering — or wait and pay $14 at the door. If you’ve got a prior engagement, be sure to catch the Golden showering, I mean showing, on October 2 at Colorado School of Mines.
