Boulder, Colorado native and yoga star Rainbeau Mars has partnered with Adidas on a new, sustainable and sexy yoga apparel line.
She’s teaching Vinyasa power yoga classes at the Yoga Journal Conference at Estes Park, where elephant’s editor and I are covering the ins and outs and ups and downs. (It was reported this morning that more spots are available for you last minute peeps who would like to come up to the YMCA in Estes Park and experience Rainbeau firsthand).
“Yoga is about being the best version of ourselves. I practice so that I can keep letting go of who I’ve become, to be who I really am,” says Rainbeau, who is in possession of the biggest, most genuine smile I have ever encountered.
I’m excited to take Rainbeau’s class this Saturday morning from 8-10 am – the interestingly named class: “Adidas Yoga: ra + yoka = The Integration of the Sun” is, according to Misss Mars, going to be a fresh practice that combines breath-centered yoga flow and alignment with balance and core conditioning. We’ll use cardiovascular, explosive martial arts movements in tandem with yoga to promote power and increase flexibility for body balance and mind-body integration..!
At a young age, Rainbeau already has quite an impressive list of accomplishments under her belt—and is now the global ambassador for Adidas. Though Adidas might not be a sustainable brand (yet), I have always been an advocate and supporter of taking baby steps if that is what it takes to get the big global players on board. With Rainbeau’s yogini knowledge, teachings and her looks, which entice and inspire both hardcore yogis and mainstream peeps alike, I can understand why Adidas brought her in as their spokesperson and yoga partner. In 2008 alone, Rainbeau participated in celebrating yoga events representing Adidas in over 12 countries (busy girl), where she led classes with up to 3,000 people, helping to continue to bring yoga to the mainstream.
This spring, Adidas unveiled a sustainable Rainbeau Mars Signature yoga active wear collection, including footwear made from fabrics such as recycled rubber and renewable eucalyptus wood, with responsible printing. Shop the clothing line on adidas.com.
