elephantjournal.com & New Era Colorado present the biggest Boulder debate—by far. Candidates will be judged live via audience participation, so candidates make sure your supporters RSVP & attend in force!
elephantjournal.com and New Era Colorado are joining forces again for a night of a lot of political debate, a little tomfoolery, and plenty of live music courtesy Walk the Talk Show’s “house band,” everyone’s new favorite band, The Dovekins.
Here’s the best part: The audience gets to decide who stays on stage and who gets the boot—you’ll be voting “American Idol style’ from the audience via text message! Whether you thought a candidate had a good answer or if you think they were doing some political-doublespeak, you get to decide how we narrow 12 candidates down to 5 winners.
We just confirmed the Dovekins to play at the event! If you don’t know them, they’re a great band with a unique sound that everyone can get down to. Check them out.
RSVP on Facebook here.
Monday, October 12, 2009 (doors 630) 7pm at The Fox Theatre.

City Council Candidates SPEAK to public at the HILL FLEA
Caffeine and Conversation with City Council candidates headlines this week’s Sunday Flea market. At 12 noon, Waylon Lewis will moderate public conversations with the candidates, and Boulder’s Ozo Coffee company will brew the coffee! While the candidates are answering questions from the public, New Era will do voter registration and last minute change of address for Boulder voters. Voting for new council members will be by mail out ballot only. Ballots will be sent out October 15th.
At 1 PM, Tango Colorado will offer a free tango class and performances, followed by live tango music performed by Gregory Nisnevich and group (www.gren-music.com). Salsa on the Streets begins at 3 PM with free salsa instruction. The Hill Flea ends with Happy Hour on the Hill. Both Mamacita’s and The Sink are participating. Before the market Mamacita’s is also offering a Sunday only Mexican Breakfast/Brunch. As usual, story hour for children is at 10:30 AM along with childrens art activities. The Hill FLEA is located at 13th at Pennsylvania St., in the University Hill shopping district. It is both a Sunday flea market, and a community space for Boulder artists and entrepreneurs to showcase their work.
