A great book, not as great as On the Road, but highly readable and full of Kerouac’s alternately lugubrious and ecstatic prose.

My generation was nicknamed “the Dharma Brats” as some sort of combination of Army Brats and Keraouc’s Dharma Bums.

Two of my fave book possessions are copies of the Dharma Bums. One is a newer paperback that Gary Snyder signed as Japhy Ryder on the page his character is introduced. Another is a first edition copy gifted by a friend who passed.
