@elephantjournal wins national 2010 Twitter national Shorty Award in “Green.”
Update: we won twitter’s national Shorty Awards in “Green”, for 2010, thanks to our friends and supporters!

Note: We’re first in voting for green with only 4 days to go, nationally, in #green. Would be great for recognition to win. Want to support? Just tweet: “I nominate @elephantjournal for a Shorty Award in #green bc…THEN SAY WHY.
Note: not all the votes below count, many are RTs, and many aren’t worded properly…and Shorty Awards encourages nominees to actively campaign and encourage their followers to tweet their support. That said, the reasons given are often fun, heartening, interesting in a new media world that can tend toward the negative.

Would be significant for our survival as an online species: we’re in second nationally in the voting for twitter’s Shorty Awards in #green.
Just copy and paste the below line and tweet it out:
“I nominate @elephantjournal for a Shorty Award in #green bc…” then say WHY.
The Shorty Awards not only condone the wrangling of friends’ votes, they encourage it. If you’ve already done so, please copy and paste the above + RT, ask your followers to helpephant?

If you do decide to help, or already have, please say so in the below comments, I want to find a way to thank you all, means a lot to have community support in this.

Incorrect source, offensive, or found a typo? Or do you want to write for Elephant?

Thanks to you all, we're back in 1st today, by 6 votes! http://shortyawards.com/category/green

[...] We won #1 in the US for green on twitter, last year, but it was the 11th category out of 10, and therefore we didn’t go to the awards show or get the kind of national exposure that we’d get this year if we won. Yup, that’s right: green is a top 10 category this year, and after starting our campaign only three days ago (everyone else has been campaigning for 23 days, we’re already in 5th. But we started late (it’s a lot of effort, and we have no staff, so we weren’t sure if we could win again this year). Follow @elephantjournal. [...]
