Foodies on Fixies: Pedaling NYC video series.
Normally any videos related to hipsters make me laugh — particularly this one — but Pedaling NYC might just be one that will get a tad bit of my respect. From what I’ve understood, it’s a series that covers group of fixie-riding friends in search of good food; the tagline happens to be “A Spirited Food and Wine Cycling Adventure Series.” Although this sounds organic and good, don’t get too excited. The series is produced in partnership with some big names: Specialized Bicycles, Whole Foods NE, Capo Forma, Bike New York and Bicycling Magazine are all on the list.
And although Waylon might have issues with me writing about anything that has to do with Whole Foods (I don’t, I love WFM, even if Mr Mackey, the founder, causes occasional bellyaches ~ed!), there are some positive elements to the first installment of the Pedaling NYC series, entitled “Pizza Fixation.”
- They drink local beer
- They wear helmets
- They don’t smoke (at least not on camera… so far)
- Their fixies are good looking
- The vid is full of bike and food p*rn.
What do you think? Food and fixies, cool idea or just another hispter trend?

It's not a trend. Its an ad.
True, it is an ad. But I think we should hand it to the hipsters for their viral marketing capabilities.
It's an ad. I agree with this guy. http://bikesnobnyc.blogspot.com/2010/01/warming-c…

Thanks for the link Cocklehater.
LOL at the writer of this article – "it's full of bike and food porn."
