As easy as scratching an itch.

Ford just unveiled a new generation dashboard that will—get this—make watching movies, tweeting, and texting…all while driving…not only possible but irresistible. It’ll be in 80% of new Ford vehicles by 2015.

This new development flies in the face of a national movement to discourage texting while driving—an often deadly, always mind-numbing cocktail.

Wonder if they will use scenes from the movie Christine as a screen saver? Was the villain car a Plymouth?

  2. Not to mention the death of pedestrians, other motorists, small children in other cars, and the motorist with the Ford dashboard itself.

How many deaths is it going to take proven by how many studies before ANY distractions while driving are outlawed?

Won't this be disabled once the driver puts the car in drive? I know in my ford escape hybrid the navigation is disengaged while the car is in drive so people don't fiddle with it while driving. I doubt it would even be legal in hands free states like CA. Most cars these days are going to voice activation technology as a result of all the tragic texting accidents.
