it’s important that we take care of our planet, indeed. it’s also time that we take care of those in need: the widow, the orphan, the opressed, the sick, the prisoner, etc… isaiah 1:17 sums it up!
This post dovetails nicely with http://www.elephantjournal.com/2010/03/religion-%... where Cameron Burgess is making the argument that religion and sustainability are incompatible. I actually think that Noah's ark is a great image of sustainability. The ark is a microcosm of the earth. To survive, we have to be able to sustain and care for a whole ecology. We have to have the ability to populate and manage the different resources of the earth.
And yes, yes, Kristy environmental justice goes hand in hand with social justice.
