The Washington Post names Authentic Leadership in Action Summer Institute #1 “must-consider leadership event.”

Uh, wow. Quite an honor. As Buddhist businessman Michael Chender puts it:

“For those of you who have wondered what the Shambhala Institute for Authentic Leadership (now ALIA) is about (or labored under the widespread but mistaken impression that it is a “business conference”), here are some surprise kudos from the Washington Post.”

Excerpt via the Post:

The Leadership Conference Worldwide calendar lists enough leadership conferences to make attending events a full time job. With nearly 65 events from New Dehli to Adelaide listed, determining what to attend is an overwhelming process. Whether you’re a CEO, an enthusiastic student, or simply interested in the discipline of leadership, conferences are a way to network, learn, present, and hang with fellow leadership fans. To follow are seven must-consider events for the summer and fall.

1. Authentic Leadership in Action Summer Institute, June 6-12, 2010, Halifax, Nova Scotia

A truly unique leadership development experience, the Institute offers a weeklong opportunity for individual growth. With a daily curriculum of Akido, meditation, and workshops ranging from Leader as Shambhala Warrior to Building Capacity for Wise and Skillful Action with Circle, Brush, and Sword, you won’t find another event like this. The philosophical and eastern-influences certainly set this event apart from the pack, and the camp-like atmosphere guarantees powerful networking and relationship-building opportunities.
