Duzer Down the Coast

As many of you may know, I’m 31 and have never had a driver’s license.  Cars scare me.  I’ve built a life around commuting by bicycle and I couldn’t imagine it any other way.  Riding on two wheels makes me feel good, like a care free little kid.

I’m currently on a very long commute, from Vancouver to Cabo San Lucas.  I’m riding to raise money for Boulder’s Community Cycles and gathering signatures for the People for Bikes Campaign.  I’ve been a volunteer with Community Cycles for years and my goal is to raise tons of money so we can get more kids on bikes.  I figure if we get them hooked early, they’ll be more likely to embrace cycling as they get older.

It’s good for our health, it’s good for the environment and it’s good fun.

People for Bikes is a campaign aimed at unifying one million voices to bring about positive change in the biking world.  It’s an initiative spurred by Boulder based Bikes Belong.  I’m gathering signatures in camp sites and everyone I meet on the road.  You can easily sign the pledge online.

With Today’s fancy technology I’ve been able to share this adventure in near real time (and keep my mom from worrying too much).  I produce and upload  videos whenever I get service.  Follow the journey every day. You can easily donate to Community Cycles on this page with the PayPal button to the right.

Here’s some of those videos I was talking about.
