Don’t Miss: Boulder’s Annual Open Studio’s Fall Tour

With a snap in the air and golden leaves underfoot, it must be that time again! For more than 15 years, Boulder’s best and brightest visual artists have opened their studios to visits from the public to  provide visitors a peek into the creative process, to share their work, and to raise awareness about the arts in Boulder.

Open Studios is held the first two weekends in October every year. This year’s fall tour will be held Saturdays and Sundays, October 2 & 3, and October 9 & 10, 2010 from noon to 6 pm.

1. Go See Preview Exhibit You can see one piece of each artist’s work in the Canyon Gallery at the Boulder Public Library. This delightful show will help you choose your favorites. View one piece from each Open Studio artist. the show opens September 11 and runs through October 10 at the Boulder Public Library, 1000 Canyon Boulevard. There will be an opening reception Friday, October 1 from 6pm until 8pm held at the Canyon Gallery. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet all of the artists in one location.

2. Map Your Tour Purchase
the 2010 Open Studios Fall Artist Tour Map and select your favorite artists. The map will be available for purchase starting in September here and at retailers around the Front Range. A complete list of participating merchants will be added in early September.

 Circle their numbers on your map and you’re ready to start your adventure! 

No appointment is needed. Noon – 6pm, Saturday and Sunday, during the first two weekends of October.

3. Find the Studios The bright yellow Open Studios sign helps make studios easy to find and identify.

4. Visit the Artists Interact with Open Studio artists as they explain their processes and what inspires them to create their art. Buy art directly from the artist. All proceeds from the sale of art goes directly to the artist.

Can’t make the opening party at the library? Visit the OpenArts website to browse your artists (www.openstudios.org)  pick up a map, grab some friends and go see some art. Jolly good fun!
