PS22 Chorus “KIDS” by MGMT
Touching, how into it these children are. I kept looking for a few children at the edges who weren’t into it…but then they’d break out in their own way and jump about and sing their heart out. This performance wasn’t just about getting the stars and outgoing children to light up—it was about all of ’em.
Kudos to them, and to the teachers. Getting allll the children to be so un-self-conscious is a bigger, and more important accomplishment, than, say, sending a man to the moon or updating the iPhone. And yet teachers, like my momma, give so much and get paid so little, so little.
There are some performances I just can’t wait to debut, and I’ve honestly lost sleep over the anticipation of getting this one down! Here is the new PS22 Chorus of 2011 singing the incredible (and appropriately titled) song, “Kids” by MGMT, and to say the group knocked it out of the park would be the understatement of the year!! We all truly had a blast with it, especially with Marquis adding that extra adrenalin kick with some amazing drumming. He worked out his part in just 15 minutes the day before we recorded it, demonstrating that the children at PS22 are indeed multi-talented! So congratulations to the “Kids” on one of the most exciting PS22 Chorus performances to date!!
Bonus: our old Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis highlight reel. Was then called “elevision.” Doesn’t include more recent conversations with Dr. Weil, Michael Pollan, others.
