Yoga Is Union… A union of What?

I’m pretty sure yoga isn’t about having the most bendy backbend or understanding a dead foreign language like Sanskrit. And it’s definitely not about what you wear or what sort of accessories you embellish your practice with. Let’s just start there.” ~Rusty Wells

Join, Junction, Yoke, Union.

All these words are basically from the same root. And so likewise when Jesus said, ‘My yoke is easy,’ he was saying really:

is easy.” ~ Alan Watts

Spirituality is not a battle between the forces of darkness and light; it is the unification of these two forces.

Our job is to love others without stopping to inquire whether or not they are worthy. That is not our business and, in fact, it is nobody’s business. What we are asked to do is to love, and this love itself will render both ourselves and our neighbors worthy if anything can.” ~Thomas Merton

Your task is not to seek love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built.” ~Rumi

You cannot do yoga. Yoga is your natural state. What you can do are yoga exercises, which may reveal to you where you are resisting your natural state.” ~Sharon Gannon

Alan Watts On The Yoga Sutras, and as always, he is brilliant!
